At Fham English, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
1Information We Collect
We collect account information (full name, email address, profile photo, role, specialization and bio for teachers), usage data (session attendance, exercise submissions and grades, community posts and messages, payment proof uploads), and technical data (IP address, browser type, device information, login timestamps).
2How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve our educational services, verify payments and manage subscriptions, send important notifications about your classes and sessions, enable communication between students and teachers, generate progress reports and track learning outcomes, and ensure platform security and prevent fraud.
3Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share limited data with: Teachers (who can see the names and progress of their enrolled students), Supabase (our database and authentication provider), Resend (our email delivery service — only your email address is shared for sending notifications), and Whereby (our video session provider — only your display name is shared during live sessions).
4Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Row Level Security (RLS) on our database ensuring users can only access their own data, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. Payment proofs are stored in private, access-controlled storage buckets.
5Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes. Session recordings and exercise submissions may be retained for up to 1 year after your subscription ends.
6Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and associated data, opt out of non-essential email communications, and request a copy of your data in a readable format. 7Cookies
We use essential cookies only — specifically for authentication session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent you from logging in.
8Children's Privacy
Our platform is not directed to children under 13. Users between 13 and 18 must have parental consent. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that data immediately.
